The Adjective Dragon Story:

It all started one day at work, when a friend/coworker and I obsessed over an accidental pun.

We were setting up the outside patio, dragging barstools out to the tables so people would have places to sit and we would have people to serve. I noticed a lot of litter on the ground -- the usual cigarette butts, straws, cups, pens and an occasional piece of silverware -- and mentioned that we should probably sweep up the debris. Disgusted at the idea of the chore, my coworker exclaimed, "You do the sweepin', I'll do the heavy draggin'..."

We busted out laughing! Heavy dragon? Is the dragon extra large? Does he like heavy metal? Is he too heavy to keep up with his dragon friends as they fly with grace through the air and he putt-putts behind? We obsessed over creating heavy dragon scenarios for the rest of our shift and I couldn't stop admiring the cleverness of the pun.

We had so much fun thinking up scenes for the idea of a "Heavy Dragon" that it made me wonder how others would interpret it and what other words could inspire the creative thought process... and thus, the theme Adjective Dragon was born!

Connecting with Local Artists:

I pitched this theme to local artists, asking them to select an adjective for their dragon to represent. This word would become the name of their dragon and the title of their artwork. The responses were amazing! The entries were posted on the Breezy Boards Facebook page so people could check out the submitted artwork. After a few weeks circulating  on Facebook, five of the designs were selected to be produced. Each dragon would be printed on 20 Breezy Boards as a part of the 100-board Adjective Dragon collection! This exclusive collection will feature 10 of each design available to purchase as complete, ready-to-ride setups. It was such a pleasure to work with these amazing artists and I'm honored to have each of their artwork featured in the debut collection of Breezy Boards! You & Your Board:

The Adjective Dragon collection went on sale (right here!) Tuesday, March 1, at 5:13 p.m. and was put on display at the Breezy Boards Launch Party on Friday, May 13th, at World of Beer in downtown St. Petersburg! I invited everyone who ordered a board to come out to celebrate the official launch of Breezy Boards -- with me, the Breezy Boards Street Team and all of the amazing Breezy Boards supporters -- and pick up their board to become the first people to ever own/skate a Breezy Board!

If you live local to St. Pete, Fla. your board will be available to pick up through me, personally, just be sure to write "I'm a local" or "I <3 DTSP" in the "Notes" section of your order.
